Why study Sage Pastel Payroll & HR?

This course is highly recommended in the Human Resources environment and can be studied via Sage University's e-learning system. You will obtain sufficient knowledge to apply for a job in the HR field and with the certificate that you will receive after completing the course on your CV you will be highly employable.

The course consists of three modules (and an exam) and are available to do as e-learning:

Module 1 - SPP Introduction to Payroll Admin & Legislation

The purpose of this training is to introduce what it entails to be a payroll administrator. It also gives background on the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Income Tax Act, the Unemployment Insurance Fund Act, the Skills Development Act the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act and the Employment Equity Act.

Module 2 - SPP Principles of Payroll Tax

The Principles of Payroll Tax workshop explains the Income Tax Act as related to Payroll Administration in layman’s terms. It is based on the Fourth Schedule to the Income Tax Act and focuses on various issues that can affect an employee’s tax calculation.

Module 3 - SPP Pro

This course will provide you with in-depth knowledge on processing in Sage Pastel Payroll, it features getting started in the software, installation, navigation, creating companies and setting up employees, processing payslips, using batch transactions as well as all the mandatory reports needed for a SARS compliant payroll.

PCA Exam

The exam is written on Sage University once you've completed all three modules.  If you pass (75%) a certificate will be issued.
